How Puppies Are Raised

At Emerald Park Border Collies, puppies are raised in a calm, enriched home environment — never a kennel. From birth, they are given the time, space, and attention they need to develop naturally, with thoughtful human interaction rather than constant stimulation.

Every part of their early life is designed to support emotional wellbeing, confidence, and adaptability. I follow Puppy Culture Protocols alongside an Advanced Behavioural Science Curriculum, using Positive Behaviour Shaping Techniques and carefully structured, developmentally appropriate activities to help puppies thrive.

These include:

• Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS): Gentle exercises in the first two weeks to support physiological development and resilience to stress.

• Early Scent Introduction (ESI): Controlled exposure to a variety of scents to build confidence and adaptability.

​

• Sound Therapy: Gradual exposure to different, controlled sounds to help puppies remain calm and confident in real-world environments.

• Close observation of each puppy as an individual, recognising and supporting their unique personality and needs.

My goal is to raise puppies who are prepared for real life — not over-aroused, not rushed, and not overwhelmed. Each puppy leaves Emerald Park with the foundation to thrive in a loving, active, and engaged family home.
