Retired with love

My Retired Dogs

At the heart of my breeding program are the dogs who came before — the much-loved companions who helped shape the foundation of my lines. Although they are now retired from breeding, they remain cherished members of their families and continue to live full, happy lives filled with comfort, adventure, and love.

Each of my retired dogs has contributed something special to the program: stable temperaments, sound structure, beautiful type, and a generosity of spirit that has carried forward into future generations. Their wellbeing has always been the priority, and retirement simply marks the beginning of a new chapter where they can enjoy life at a gentler pace.

This page is a celebration of them — their personalities, their accomplishments, and the lasting legacy they leave behind. They are treasured, respected, and forever part of the Emerald Park Border Collies story.

Bessie - black sable bitch

Bessie

“Emerald Park Bessie” - My Black Sable Girl

Bessie is my sweetest soul — gentle, affectionate, and endlessly loyal. Her unusual black sable coat gives her a soft tan-and-white appearance that makes her as striking as she is kind. At around 20 kg, she’s a beautifully balanced girl with an easy, calm nature.

She’s happiest trotting alongside her favourite people with her nose brushing their hand, enjoying quiet companionship. Agile and light on her feet, Bessie always loved racing through the paddocks and playfully “chasing” birds with her joyful energy. She also loves children.

As a mother, Bessie was exceptional: attentive, nurturing, and quietly confident. Her puppies consistently inherited her lovely colouring and beautiful temperaments.

Bessie is now enjoying her well-earned retirement — living a happy, much-loved life.

Tilly - black & white bitch

Tilly

“Emerald Park Tilly” - My Big Black and White Heritage Girl

Tilly has always been my “heritage girl” — a stunning black and white Border Collie with a huge presence and an even bigger personality. With her excellent bone, impressive size (around 26 kg), and classic structure, she is a wonderful example of the traditional working Collie.

She was the dog who proved that some Border Collies are simply born for a job. Tilly possessed the strongest herding instinct of all my dogs, and nothing made her happier than having a task to throw herself into — whether she was guarding the chooks, rounding up the horses for feed time, or tumbling the other dogs in enthusiastic play. Intelligent, cheeky, and determined, Tilly approached everything with purpose and joy.

As a mother, she excelled just as she did in every other aspect of her life, raising outstanding puppies that inherited her drive, structure, and bright, confident nature.

Tilly has retired from breeding — forever one of our most memorable and beloved girls.

Caly - black & white bitch

Caly

"Glenloy Calypso Dream" - My Little Pocket Rocket

Caly is my delightful 18 kg black-and-white “pocket rocket” — full of fizz and fire one moment, and perfectly attentive and well-mannered the next. She’s an exceptionally happy little soul with a gorgeous long coat, pricked ears, and a mischievous sparkle that makes her impossible not to love.

Beautifully bred and bursting with personality, Caly has always preferred the company of her humans, happily shadowing anyone who will offer her attention. Her playful nature and affectionate heart made her a favourite from the very beginning.

As a mother, Caly was devoted, gentle, and wonderfully reliable. She produced outstanding puppies with her lovely structure and consistently sweet temperaments.

A true bundle of joy, Caly has left a lasting mark on Emerald Park Border Collies.

Misty - lilac merle bitch

Misty - My Lilac Merle Girl

Misty is my darling lilac merle girl — full of personality, charm, and a wonderfully easygoing nature. Even as a youngster, she displayed an unusually level-headed and thoughtful temperament. Despite all the typical puppy energy, she has always been a trouble-free companion with a clever, steady outlook on life.

Misty was not bred by me, and after her diagnosis of Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE) at a little over twelve months of age, she was lovingly removed from my breeding program. I believe strongly in responsible breeding, and it is important to me to help raise awareness of this autoimmune condition, which can occur in dogs with chocolate genetics but is not limited to them. Misty will remain a cherished part of my family, having enjoyed the very special role of “aunty” — helping to socialise and nurture my puppies.

Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE) is an autoimmune skin disease where the immune system mistakenly targets the body’s own cells, causing inflammation. It most commonly affects the nose but can also involve the areas around the eyes, lips, and ears. At this time, there is no genetic test available for DLE.

Misty may have never been part of my breeding program, but she has been an important part of life at Emerald Park Border Collies — loved, valued, and adored for the sweet girl she is.

Lexie - blue & white bitch

Lexie

"ForCows Lexie" - My Sweet Blue Girl

Lexie is my beautiful blue and white girl — the perfect blend of sweetness and cheeky mischief, making her instantly loved by everyone who meets her. She has a lovely, steady temperament paired with just the right amount of drive, and she approaches life with enthusiasm and heart.

Lexie has always been an amazing mother: attentive, gentle, and wonderfully playful. She adored her puppies, and it showed in the confident, well-balanced litters she raised.

Her pairings with Jack produced black and white, black tri, chocolate and white, and chocolate tri puppies. When mated with Toby, she produced equally gorgeous litters in black and white, blue and white, and blue tri. Her puppies have consistently stood out for their intelligence, structure and their beautiful, people-focused temperaments.

Lexie has now retired from breeding and continues to be the same joyful, affectionate girl who has contributed so much to my program — a true favourite here at Emerald Park Border Collies.

Evie - black & white bitch

Evie

"Emerald Park Calypso Eve" - My Little Keeper

Evie is my beautiful little “keeper” girl — bred br Emerald Park Border Collies and chosen to stay because of her lovely nature, balanced structure, and undeniable charm. From the moment she was born, she carried herself with a gentle confidence and an affectionate, people-focused temperament that made her impossible to let go.

Small, elegant, and full of quiet sweetness, Evie has always been the kind of dog who slips easily into your heart. She loves her people, adores being included in day-to-day life, and has a soft, thoughtful way of observing the world around her. Despite her gentle demeanour, she carries a spark of playful mischief that keeps everyone smiling. Children adore her!

Evie produced beautiful puppies with Jack and proved to be an excellent mother — devoted, calm, and wonderfully attentive. Her pups inherited her sweetness, her soft nature, and her lovely type, making her a treasured part of our breeding program.

Evie has now retired from breeding and continues to be the same gentle, loving companion who first captured my heart — a true little treasure.

Toby - red & white stud dog

Toby

"Aurora Run Toby" - From Aurora Border Collies

Aurora Border Collies Toby is a truly gorgeous young dog with a soft, gentle nature. He takes the world in at his own pace and has a calm, thoughtful way of approaching new experiences. Once he’s comfortable, his steady focus and willingness to engage really shine through.

As a sire, Toby has already proven himself. His puppies have show his affectionate temperament — balanced, people-oriented, and sensible. He carries both the dilute and red genes, offering the potential for beautiful colour variety while keeping sound structure and kind natures at the forefront.

Toby is a substantial boy in size, yet he remains incredibly affectionate and people-loving. He forms deep bonds, enjoys quiet companionship, and has a gentle, patient way with those around him. He’s the sort of dog who rewards trust with unwavering loyalty.
