OUR DOGS …...are naturally beautiful!

Emerald Park is home to our seven beautiful Border Collies. They are important family members we love very much. We don't go to any special effort when photographing our dogs. They are not washed or brushed, but in their natural farm dog state. No frills, just lovely dogs.

We are dedicated breeders who put a lot of time, money, and energy into combining what we believe is the best genetic material when we do a breeding.  We back that up by giving our "girls" the best prenatal care and nutrition possible, and then follow through with sound rearing, nutrition, socialization, and training for the puppies.

Our dogs are guaranteed love and a life with us for all of their days. We are not a breeder who believes in rehoming adult dogs once they have come to the end of their usefulness for breeding.

You are welcome to join us on the journey; from fun on the farm, to mating, prenatal activities, whelping, puppy growth and development ……. all the way to our puppies joining their new families.

Becoming Part of our Breeding Program

It is possible to become part of our breeding program. These puppies join their families when they are 8 weeks old and once they are mature they return to Emerald Park to whelp and raise a litter of puppies before returning to their families for retirement. Becoming part of our extended breeding program does involve full payment for the puppy. The reason for this, is that we do want to allow you the opportunity to change your mind without any repercussions. The puppy family may have a puppy from the litter or the monetary value of a puppy from the litter. If you are interested in joining the Emerald Park family as one of our Breeder's Terms families please contact us for more information and benefit details.

Jack

OUR STUD DOG

Our male dog is "Jack". He is a young, quite large, outstanding, tri chocolate boy weighing in at 27 kg. While definitely the alpha of our little canine pack, Jack has a very calm and affectionate nature combined with considerable spunk. He sires beautiful puppies!

Bessie

OUR BLACK SABLE GIRL

"Emerald Park Bessie"

The sweetest of our dogs is "Bess". She appears tan and white colour with an unusual sable pattern. Bess is the all round good girl at Emerald Park and weighs 20 kg. She loves cuddles but is not pushy or boisterous. Bessie's life is complete when she is running along beside me with her nose close to my hand. She is extremely agile and also loves chasing birds around our paddocks. Bess has been a very good mother: attentive, nurturing but firm. Her puppies have been of beautiful colouring and temperament.

Bessie has now retired from breeding.

Tilly

OUR BIG BLACK AND WHITE HERITAGE GIRL

"Emerald Park Tilly"

We often hear that every Border Collie needs a job! This applies particularly to Tilly. She has the strongest herding instinct of all of our dogs. We call her our "heritage" girl. She is a black and white colour with a gorgeous and vibrant personality. Till is very large for a female Border Collie. She has excellent bone structure and weighs 26 kg. Tilly is at her happiest when she is guarding the chooks, bringing the horses up for feeds or barreling the other dogs over in play. She's  highly intelligent and cheeky!!! Tilly, by nature, must excel at every task she is set, so it is no surprise that she has been a great mother, producing outstanding puppies.

Tilly has now retired from breeding.

Caly

OUR LITTLE POCKET ROCKET

Our small, 18 kg black and white pocket rocket is Caly. She is fizz and fire one moment and attentively well mannered the next. Caly is an extremely happy little individual, with a very long coat. She is a beautifully bred bundle of mischief!

Misty

OUR LILAC MERLE GIRL

Misty is our incredibly cute lilac Merle girl. She is such a cool character! Although displaying all the normal puppy tendencies she has been very trouble free. Her intelligent and level headed manner has been quite unusual throughout her development.

Sadly, Misty (not bred by us) has been diagnosed with Discoid Lupus Erythematosus and has been removed from our breeding program. We would like to raise awareness of this disease affecting mainly, but not exclusively, dogs with chocolate genetics. We will not be part of its spread. Misty will be a doting "aunty" to our puppies and be an important part of their socialisation.

Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE) is a relatively common autoimmune skin disease of dogs. Autoimmune disease occurs when the immune system targets harmless cells of the body resulting in inflammation and disease. In DLE, skin disease tends to occur around the nose, but can extend to include areas around the eyes, lips and ears.

There is no genetic testing available for Discoid Lupus Erythematosus.

Aurora RunToby

Our daughter and her partner's red boy - Aurora Border Collies.

Toby is a gorgeous young dog who has begun to sire outstanding puppies. He has calm focus and a gentle approach. Toby carries the dilute gene as well as the red gene. He is quite a large dog who loves people.

 Lexie

OUR SWEET BLUE GIRL

Lexie is a beautiful blue & white girl. She has just the right mix of sweet mischeiviousness to be loved by all.

Jack and Lexie produce black and white, tri coloured, chocolate and white and chocolate tri coloured puppies. Mating between Toby and Lexie should produce black and white as well as blue and white puppies.
